Staying Busy this Eid.

I'm constantly on the look for different ways I can keep my kids busy during long holiday breaks. Staying away from tablets and TV screens is essential; but finding simple ways to keep our little ones busy can sometimes be difficult. Here are 4 SIMPLE activities that you can set up at home that are great fun!

Play-Dough.

Play-dough is always a big hit with children. Especially if you throw in new cutters, utensils and bits & bobs that helps them stay creative. I am a big fan of making our own safe play-dough, whether to use at home or at Little Village. It's super easy to make; and knowing that the ingredients are safe is always a plus. Check out the video below on how to make colored play-dough at home.

Sensory Pasta Tray

For this activity, all you need is a shallow tray, some pasta (you can go with colored pasta for extra fun!) and small cups and spoons. Children enjoy scooping pasta into bowls and cups and pouring it out again. You can substitute pasta with rice, oats or any other ingredient you have at home.

Ear Bud Painting

Tape some paper to the table (this helps limit the mess), get a bunch of ear buds and small pots of different colored paint and let your little ones get creative and pain using the ear buds; Try not to interrupt their creative flow!

Foam Table

Last but not least, some foam fun! This is for sure my personal favourite! All you have to do is spray some shaving foam onto the table and add a few drops of paint or food coloring; then enjoy making rainbow swirls and foamy mountains. This can be a bit messy, but nothing an apron wouldn't resolve.

I've tried to choose simple activities that you can try out using everyday objects/things you have around the house. Remember, the simpler the better; and here's a short video of our students in action enjoying all the activities we shared!
